A production cel from the Marvel Studios animated series "X-Men" (1992-1997). Featuring a great group image of Corsair, Cyclops, Gambit, Phoenix, and Rogue all writhing in pain, the hand-painted cel was created at the studio and used during the animation process. The cel is an actual frame of animation that was photographed and appears in the season three episode "The Phoenix Saga, Part Four: The Starjammers," which aired on September 8, 1994. Measuring 10.5"x12.5" overall, with the character image measuring 6"x7.25", the cel is in very good condition with minor surface wear, slight line wear, and backing paper stuck to the reverse of the paint from studio use and storage. The cel is paired with a color copy reproduction background for presentation purposes. A second black out effect cel layer is also included that was used for the same sequence to create the lighting effect seen during the scene.
